The sixth grade honors and seventh grade math students are having fun learning Algebra by becoming Mathemagicians. Students created Math Magic by manipulating algebraic expressions to produce a desired result, such as their shoe size, birthday or lucky number. The Mathemagicians then learned to input these expressions as formulas into a spreadsheet, linking technology to math. When a number was entered for the unknown value, the tabulated expressions automatically updated to the target solution, like Magic!
Students also created posters or games to present their Math Magic problems. The Engineering Club members then voted for their favorite projects. The winners are shown below:
