Last week was an exciting time in third grade. We got to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a fun event- A book tasting. Students worked hard during the beginning of the week to fill out their “Get a Taste of Good Book” sheet which included summaries, favorite parts, and personal connections to a book of their choosing. On Friday, desks were transformed into fancy dining tables with some tablecloths and books were set up at each place setting. While some light music played in the background, students got to go around to each book and get a “little taste” of what that book was like. Students filled out their tasting sheet, writing down whether or not they had interest in reading the book. After all books were tasted, students filled out a feedback sheet with their top 3 favorite books they would want to read and enjoyed some cookies to end the exciting week!
