Our MTC community is full of superheroes of all kinds so what better theme for our 4th Annual Auction than “Show Us Your Super Power!”
Save the date for Saturday, February 20th at 6pm when we turn Providence Hall into our very own Superhero Convention complete with food, drinks, and silent & live auction items. That should give you plenty of time to take your shiny, spandex hero suit to the dry cleaners.
In the meantime, to kick off the superhero-mania, we invite your heroes-in-training to get some practice.
A professional photographer will be taking pictures of each class and these pictures will later be framed and auctioned off for each class in the silent auction. Because this is part of a fundraising effort, personal photography will not be permitted.
A few reminders: The clothes the children wear should not inhibit their ability to learn during the school day. The heroes should rely solely on their superpowers and leave their “weapons” at home since they could pose safety concerns. The Auction Committee will supply some props to be featured in the pictures.
Now for the fun part – the costumes. With Halloween just around the corner, it is pretty easy to snatch up a new spandex hero suit at the store. But if you are feeling less inclined to spend the money and happen to be even just a little bit crafty here are some links for a few fun, easy ideas:
- Use a printable hero logo, some iron-on transfer paper, and a plain T-Shirt to make your own Superhero Shirt.
- Use an old T-Shirt to make a custom cape.
- Just a little felt, elastic and a sewing machine or hot glue gun and you can make your own masks.
- Make superhero wrist cuffs from a paper towel toll.
