MTC History

Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School is located on the campus of Mother of Divine Providence Parish in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School was created as a result of the consolidation of students from Saint Teresa of Avila School and Mother of Divine Providence Parish Schools. In February of 2012 the two schools were merged into one new regional school to be located in the former Mother of Divine Providence

School facility.

In February 2012 the name Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School was announced as the official name for the newly merged school. Under the leadership of the two pastors, and principals, Father Martin Cioppi and Mrs.

Theresa Garvin from Mother of Divine Providence Parish and Monsignor Andrew Golias, and Mrs. Darlene Adams from St. Teresa of Avila the plan for a new school began to take shape.

Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School officially opened on September 5, 2012, under the guidance of Father Martin Cioppi and Father J. Jerome Wild, the pastors, and the direction of its first principal

Mrs. Theresa Garvin. Ten years later, under the continued guidance of Father Cioppi and principal Ms. Christine Pagan, Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School earned its first National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence honor.

MTC’s strategic planning represents a commitment by every family and worker to “see a student body full of collaborative, curious, adaptive and technologically competent learners who, along with developing a deep faith in Christ, will thrive academically and actively participate in the life of the Church. Our students will grow to be valuable contributors to higher education and the marketplace.” It is important to us that our school be ready to accept our students in a professional, courteous, and giving atmosphere, so they can work at their optimal potential.
